Methodology and Award Disclosure

Plant-A Insights Group and Newsweek partnered to identify America’s Top Financial Advisory Firms 2026.

According to the published methodology, over 16,000 financial advisories registered with the SEC were analyzed as part of the evaluation process.

To be eligible for evaluation, a financial advisory firm had to meet baseline criteria, including:

  • More than $20 million in assets under management (AUM).

  • A minimum of three wealth advisers.

  • At least five individual clients.

  • At least two years of SEC registration.

  • Clean disciplinary records, as defined by the disciplinary items in Form ADV Part 1.

  • Availability of portfolio management services to individual investors.

Evaluation Factors

Shortlisted firms were analyzed and scored based on multiple factors, including:

Asset Performance

Growth in assets under management was evaluated as an indicator of both firm growth and the health of the client base.

The scoring model included both short-term and long-term measures of asset growth, including September 2024 vs. September 2025 and CAGR from September 2020 to September 2025.

Client Performance

Firms were evaluated on their ability to retain and attract clients.

The scoring model considered both short-term and long-term measures of client base growth or shrinkage.

Adviser Expertise and Client Ratio

The methodology considered measures related to adviser expertise, including the percentage of employees who are registered financial advisory representatives, as well as the client-to-adviser ratio.

Breadth of Service Offerings

The ranking also considered the breadth of wealth advisory services offered by each firm, including services such as financial planning and pension consulting.

Conflicts of Interest

Firms with potential conflicts of interest were penalized in the scoring model.

Ranking Outcome

A percentile rank between 0 and 100 was calculated for each RIA evaluated.

The top 1,000 financial advisory firms were recognized as America’s Top Financial Advisory Firms 2026.

The performance of firms not included in the ranking is not disputed.
