Robert M. Wyrick Jr., Managing Director and CIO, Post Oak Private Wealth Advisors

Robert M. Wyrick, Jr.

Managing Director / Chief Investment Officer

Robert M. Wyrick, Jr. is Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Post Oak Private Wealth Advisors, a Houston-based fiduciary wealth management firm serving individuals, families, executives, retirees, and business owners through integrated financial planning, tax-aware retirement distribution planning, and risk-managed portfolio management. With more than twenty-five years of experience advising investors, Robert has built his career around a simple principle: protect capital first, grow it prudently, and structure portfolios that can endure changing economic conditions.

Robert's career spans both the institutional and private wealth sides of investment management. He began his career managing portfolios for large institutional clients, including foundations, endowments, and insurance companies, where he developed deep expertise in risk management and portfolio construction. He later served as President and Lead Portfolio Manager of a national Registered Investment Advisory firm, where he guided investors and advisors through multiple market cycles and periods of economic uncertainty, leading portfolio design strategy for a team of approximately 2,000 advisors and their clients.

That institutional foundation, and the discipline around managing risk that came with it, shapes how Post Oak approaches every client relationship today. Robert holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston.

His work at Post Oak is centered on clients facing meaningful financial complexity: corporate executives approaching retirement, energy sector professionals evaluating pension and benefit decisions, women navigating significant financial transitions after divorce, and business owners managing wealth following liquidity events.

As Chief Investment Officer, Robert guides the firm's investment philosophy, portfolio strategy, and risk-managed approach to wealth management, connecting investment decisions with broader planning considerations, including tax efficiency, income distribution, estate coordination, and long-term financial confidence.

Post Oak operates under a fiduciary, fee-only model. The firm does not earn commissions, and every recommendation is made in the client's interest alone.
